Who We Are

In July 2016 two guys who shared a lifetime love of playing Rock and Roll jammed together for the first time and Tuesday Night Special was born. Bob Gallo

Guitar, Vocals

Bob started playing guitar at age ten and soon after formed a band with his next-door neighbor, who conveniently played drums. He never took lessons, he learned by playing along with 45s and WIBG up in his room, much to the chagrin of his parents, who probably regretted buying him that amp and guitar for Christmas. Bob has played in several successful local bands including Ravenhill, The NonProphets, and The Bullpen over the years, and has played all sorts of genres, from rock, to blues, reggae and even bluegrass. Bob attended Sharon Hill HS and Millersville University. He retired after a 35-year teaching career and still keeps busy coaching high school baseball.

Jerry Gepner

Bass Guitar

Jerry started playing bass at the age of 14 when his father bought him an electric bass – not knowing the difference between an electric guitar and a bass. Within three years he was playing in clubs and in backup bands for 50’s era groups that were working the nightclub scene between Philadelphia and New York.  He eventually joined Western Flyer, a Texas outlaw/swing band that toured the southeast playing clubs and opening for headliners.  After college his focus was on career and family but came back to the bass ten years ago, playing with a wide range of musicians in the Bucks County and South Jersey area.  Jerry describes himself as a “pocket” bass player who loves to set up a groove for the rest of the music to ride on.  His musical tastes run the gamut from classical to early rock n roll and Motown to jazz, country, classic rock, traditional blues and Americana.

Mitch Rubin

Drums and vocals

Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Mitch fell in love with drums at the age of 10 when his parents bought him a set of bongos. By the age of 13 he was playing local colleges and other venues as the drummer in a band known as the Source. He is a graduate of Central High School and Drexel University, both in Philadelphia. When Mitch is not playing drums, Mitch is a CPA, business financial consultant and has been CFO of multiple private and public companies.  While raising a family, which took Mitch to California and Colorado for a total of 16 years, the drums took a back seat to his wife Ilene and two children, Stephanie and Philip. After returning to Bucks County in 2009 Mitch looked to find a band he could call home. That happened in July 2016 when Tuesday Night Special was formed.

Walt Tschepik

Lead Guitar and vocals

Walter grew up listening to rock and began playing guitar at the age of 12 with his Kalamazoo amp and first Fender Stratocaster studying with numerous private instructors including Harry McGonigal - “Flamin Harry” and Randy Sarles, a jazz performer that required him to take 2 trains just to get to his lessons. The focus was on music theory, technique and improvisation. He also studied diatonic/chromatic harmony and jazz improvisation with Sye Platt, a music professor at Bucks County Community College. In his early music career, he played in D.A. Revival and Avenue-C, both rock bands, before turning his focus to pursuing a career in hospital pharmacy and raising 3 children. Once again returning to music, Walter played lead guitar and vocals with The UA Band before joining Tuesday Night Special as their lead guitar and vocals.
